BOOKING CONDITIONS
Trekking with A La Carte Sportive

1. To book the client should complete and sign the booking form and return it together with payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (minimum of 25% of the total due or as indicated on the booking form). Receipt of the booking form and deposit confirms the booking this is the formal acceptance of the booking. We can accept credit card bookings -- which confirm you booking at the time of the credit card transaction.

2. The balance is payable not less than six weeks before the start of the holiday. If payment is not received by the due date the owner reserves the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled. The client will remain liable to pay the balance of the holiday due once the due date has passed (i.e. 6 weeks prior to the holiday) unless the owner is able to re-book the holiday. In this event clause 4. of these booking conditions will apply.

3. Any chargeable expenses arising during the rental period e.g. telephone calls, meals, drinks should be settled locally with the proprietors before departure.

4. Subject to clauses 1 and 2 above, in the event of a cancellation, refunds of amounts paid will be made if 'A La Carte Sportive' is able to re-book the holiday and trek and any expenses or losses incurred in so doing will be deducted from the refundable amount. Please note this also applies to persons cancelling their holiday once full payment has been paid, and in the event that the client cancels the remainder of their holiday once on site for any reason whatsoever, eg due to work commitments or due to accident or injury. In this event A La Carte Sportive will not be expected to give a refund nor offer a replacement holiday free of charge. The client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover). To have full cover for the party's belongings, public liability etc, since these are not covered by the owners insurance. Full French insurance for horse-riding with the FFE (equivalent of the British Horse Society ) organised with A La Carte Sportive, 9 euros -- 3 week holiday cover, or please indicate if you wish full year membership with quarterly magazine included, adult full year 36 euros, children 25 euros.

5. The proprietor will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury, which is the result of adverse weather conditions, war, strikes, or any other matters beyond the control of the owner. For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client during the holiday or trek.

6. The proprietor will not be liable for any trek cancellation, which is the result of adverse weather conditions or other conditions leading to a cancellation beyond the control of A La Carte Sportive. An alternative activity will be offered, if possible, in the event of a cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, such as, visit to local studs, L'Haras Nationaux.

7. Under no circumstances shall the proprietor's liability to the client exceed the amount paid to the owner for the holiday or trek.

Information:
Please ensure you have adequate insurance for each person participating in a full day’s horse-riding, or several days, abroad. (FFE licence which covers you for insurance specifically horse-riding, is obligatory. Full year membership costs 36 euro. Holiday 10 euro. Trekking is considered a sporting activity. Ask your travel agent for advice. (Britain - bring with you the E11 forms available from your Doctor in case of an accident/illness). Please tell us about any medical condition or disability that may affect your ability to participate in this sporting activity, (such as diabetes, epilepsy etc.). We also need to know about any medical condition in the event of emergency help, we may need i.e. helicopter airlift in the Bay of Mont St. Michel or other remote areas St. Germain sur Aye, beaches.
Please give us as much information about your riding ability as possible with the booking form, tell us your height and weight, so that we can match you with an appropriate horse.
I have read your terms and conditions (each participant should sign) and accept them. I am over 18 years of age. (We strongly advise you to take out a holiday cancellation policy as deposit and balance can not be returned once confirmation of your holiday/trek is made. See conditions also for cancellation due to adverse weather conditions or other conditions beyond our control.)
